wtf to life?
seriously? i just tried posting that hat post and was running into a space exceeded error. how could that be? i have a ton of space on my server.
AS IT TURNS OUT, i receive such an insane volume of spam that it completely filled up my inbox and took up 300+ megs of space. that is absolutely unacceptable and inappropriate. i can't believe i can't just own a domain and have space on it without being bombarded with spam! i had to delete my greymatter because i was getting so many spam comments. i had to delete one of my hostee's comments and disable comments on her blog because it was taking up so much server space. there are so many tools to get rid of spam, but it's exhausting trying to keep up with all of them all the time for every thing that i use.
so if you're a hostee, please check your inbox if you have fip.com email! just get rid of any spam you may have, because it really is a strain on the server. i just spent hours working on my own and really don't have time to do yours as well.
in other news. this is really unfortunate. along with spam getting more and more oppressive, phishing is getting more and more sophisticated. can i not use ANY website anymore!? watch out for that one.
finally, i'm incredibly intrigued by pay per post and think i might end up doing it. i signed up for it but have yet to actually commit. i love writing about things and reviewing them, so why not? people are making tons of money off of it, too. you just write about things in your blog and get paid. there are word requirements, but they're really low. some people see it as "selling out," but i sorta see it as "getting paid." if you don't want to read the ads, then don't, you know? and why not read them since they'll be presented with my usual dry sense of humor and brutal honesty.
if you do it, how do you like it? if not, why not? tell me.
